The Halford Hewitt Cup is contested by the same 64 schools each year, in a knockout competition. Each team consists of five pairs playing matchplay against the five pairs from their drawn opponents. The format is scratch foursomes, and so very low handicaps are required of team members. The school team is selected from a squad of players brought together by the team Captain, in this case Richard Gibson. Players with handicaps less than 5 who are not already part of the squad should contact the society if they wish to be considered.
